Share House - Seoul

Share houses in Seoul are common near subway stations, university districts, business districts, and areas with high concentrations of foreigners, but you cannot judge the safety of a contract by location alone. You need to distinguish between renting by room, renting by bed, subleasing, and whether there is a contract with an operating company.

• Check the relationship between the contracting party and the owner.
• Check the certified copy of property registration (등기사항증명서), deposit, monthly rent, maintenance fees, utility bills, and rules for shared spaces.
• Check whether it is an address where you can register your place of residence (체류지 신고).
• Put in writing the contract period, early move-out, deposit refund, roommate replacement, and visitor rules.
• Before moving in, check the photos against the actual room condition, as well as windows, heating, noise, and mold.

• "Which neighborhood's share house in Seoul is the best?"
• "Is this price cheap?"
• "There's an operating company, so it's safe, right?"
• "Can I move in without a contract?"

The questions above require an actual listing, a contract, property registration, and an on-site inspection.
