Company & School Dormitories

Unlike ordinary tenancies, company and school dormitories may be connected to company rules (사규), school regulations (학칙), welfare rules, your employment contract, and your status of joining/leaving the company or taking a leave of absence. The deposit, monthly rent, utility bills, and move-out conditions must be checked against the operating institution's documents.

• Check the dormitory use agreement, company rules/school regulations, move-out rules, and demerit/access rules.
• If there are lodging fees, meal costs, or management fees deducted from your salary, check the items and whether you consented to them.
• Check the move-out deadline and the deposit settlement method when you leave the company, end your contract, take a leave of absence, or graduate.
• Check with the school/company and the immigration office whether the address is one where you can register your place of residence (체류지 신고).
• If it is connected to unfair deductions, forced eviction, or wage problems, you may need the Labor Office (노동청) or legal counseling.
