How early did you start your extension paperwork?

Most of us find out too late that one document takes weeks, not days.
I want to collect what actually happened to people here, because the official pages tell you what is required but never how long it really took you.
Three things I'd love to hear:
- How many weeks before your expiry date did you start? And looking back, was that enough?
- Which single document took the longest to get? Employment certificate, bank statement, enrolment certificate, something from your landlord?
- What did you have to redo because you got it in the wrong format, or it had expired by the time you submitted?
If you're preparing right now, say which visa type and how much time you have left — someone who has been through it can tell you what to start first.
The verified requirements and official channels are in the guides: Visa & Immigration.
